The pup will then advance to its first introduction to live pigeons, water, gunfire, etc. to help build retrieve drive.

The Beginner Gun Dog Program is for dogs that are a minimum of 6 months old. This program is where a solid foundation is built to help your dog progress into a successful retriever. We begin by repetition in training to assure near perfect obedience. The dog will then advance to collar conditioning and force fetch. We will also train the dog with various marks starting with easy single marks and advancing to multiple marks including more factors on both land and water. During this training process, we will expose the dog to various elements to prepare them for the introduction into waterfowl hunting. This includes, but is not limited to, various water and field locations, live waterfowl, gunfire, and hunting blinds.
The Advanced Gun Dog Program is for those dogs that have a solid foundation in retriever training and are ready for the next step. We will start with drills to prepare the dog for blind retrieves, slowly advancing to harder set ups until they are able to run cold blinds. The dog will also continue to advance their marking skills by being
The Advanced Gun Dog Program is for those dogs that have a solid foundation in retriever training and are ready for the next step. We will start with drills to prepare the dog for blind retrieves, slowly advancing to harder set ups until they are able to run cold blinds. The dog will also continue to advance their marking skills by being introduced to multiple marks and interrupted marks in difficult terrain on both land and water. We will put the dog through swim by and "de cheating" drills to assure an obedient retriever.
A large part of this training includes exposing your dog to various real life hunting set ups. This is where everything they have learned is put together to assure a reliant and respectable hunting partner.
Your dog will come out of this program being a well mannered hunting partner and a family member that will be a pleasure to have in the house.
Here at Red Dog Retrievers we do have an occasional litter of puppies. That being said, we are very selective on who receives the opportunity to own one of these special pups. We do not take deposits until the pups are on the ground.

If interested in our male, Gauge, we do provide stud services to approved females. The female must have Hips, Elbows, and Eyes tested through the OFA. We also require a basic genetic health panel at minimum.
